Reading the biography of Bruderhof founder Eberhard Arnold, “Against the Wind”.
It seems that at the beginning of World War I Eberhard fell prey to a frenzied nationalistic patriotism.
That he recovered from that and went on to found a pacifist, anabaptist community gives me some hope for many of those evangelical notables who have fallen for current versions of nationalistic patriotism, forgetting that our citizenship is elsewhere.
I pray that they will remember it.
